Learning from child safeguarding practice reviews

This page shares the learning from local reviews undertaken, highlighting key findings, recommendations, good practice and areas for improvement.

A Rapid Review is a multi-agency process which considers the circumstances of a SCSI. The purpose of the Rapid Review is to identify and act upon immediate learning, and consider if there is additional learning which could be identified through a wider Child Safeguarding Practice Review (CSPR).

The following learning summaries highlight key findings and learning from practice form rapid reviews undertaken by OSCB partners:

The purpose of child safeguarding practice reviews (previously known as serious case reviews) is to identify improvements needed and to consolidate good practice. The findings are then translated into a programme of action which leads to sustainable improvements and the prevention of death, serious injury or harm to children.
